Description
Owned
by the current vendor for 45 years; still retains the original Triumph V8 engine
via an automatic gearbox
Dating
from 1973, this pretty green Stag has been owned by our vendor
for 45 years, being first registered in June 1973. It has retained the
correct 2,997cc Triumph V8 engine with automatic
transmission.
Inside,
we find the typical black vinyl seats and wooden dashboard. It also
benefits from electric windows with the odometer indicating 109,506 miles.
There are 17 previous MOTs showing an average of only 1,000 miles per year for
the last 30 years.
Starting
promptly, the car seems to run well with that lovely V8 burble synonymous with
the Triumph Stag. There are invoices showing the engine has been rebuilt in 1984
at 77,226 miles at a well-respected local garage here in Leominster. They
continued to maintain the car until 1989, replacing items such as track control
arms, lower arms, radiator, wheel bearings etc, also servicing the car regularly
throughout the years.
More recently the car has been maintained by
Triumph specialists Rimmer Bros of Lincoln, attending to all the cars needs
up until 1999. After that there are very few receipts, but this may be due to
the low annual mileage.
The
paintwork shows some signs of age but the car looks sound enough and sits well
with a soft top hood and colour coded hardtop included in the sale. The original
alloy wheels are painted black with grey edging, setting the car off from the
crowd.
This
is a reluctant sale from the vendor due to no longer having a garage
available.
