Description
Entry
level MGB to use and improve; recent new clutch; black leather interior;
overdrive; extensively restored in the early/mid '90s
Dating from
April 1977, this rubber-bumper MGB Roadster is one we’d consider a ‘use and
improve’ example with scope to enjoy whilst titivating the car here and there to
get it up to par. By that we mean you could improve the paintwork if you wish
although it is quite presentable as it is. It has recently benefited from a
leather interior and a fabric roof paint in the last 6 months, it starts, runs,
drives and stops.
Under the bonnet, we find the familiar 1798cc
four-cylinder B-series petrol engine driving the rear wheels via four-speed
manual transmission with overdrive which emits that typically lovely and
immediately identifiable MGB exhaust note.
The history file includes the
V5C showing 11 former keepers (it is 47 years old remember), 9 old MOTs, many
photos of the car pre, during and post older restoration and a ream of historic
bills including some more recent work in 2023 totaling £623 for ignition and
fuel system parts and another £504 for a replacement clutch
Historic
bills on file show the car was restored during the early/mid '90s at
considerable cost with many new panels as shown in the accompanying
photos. On offer here with low reserve, this car could be improved with
very little work.
