Description
Just 43,000 miles showing; very smart example with a 2.3-litre upgrade
and Weber carb; manual; recent extensive cambelt service; practical load lugger
that looks just a few years old
This sparkling 740 GL estate has had
six owners from new, old MOTs showing virtually no miles being added in the
early 1990s and early noughties. In fact, for many years, it covered precisely
10 miles between MOTs, presumably 5 miles there and 5 miles back!!
We
can't absolutely guarantee the mileage, but it lived in London from 1990 until
at least 2011 which may help explain why it dispalys so few
miles.
At some point, the B20 - 2-litre engine has been changed to a
B23 - 2.3-litre engine. Its current owner couldn't get it to run right so
fitted a new Weber carburettor conversion and all is now well.
It has a
manual gearbox, manual choke, cloth trim but also such luxuries as
heated front seats and electric front windows (keep-fit windows in the back) and
should go on for years and years and years and years....the last car you will
ever need to buy in fact.
Looking as if it is barely a year old, these
big estates are also pretty cool and trendy these days!!
