Description
Just two
owners in the last 25 years; extensively restored in 2011; later 1,098cc engine
fitted; large capacity fuel tank; ready for the summer
First
registered in Portsmouth in November 1954, this early two-door Morris Minor
split-screen has a well-documented past including an extensive restoration
in 2011 and the fitment of a more potent 1,098cc engine in 1999.
Our
vendor acquired the car four years ago from a Mr Davies who had owned it since
1999. He had restored the car in 2011 at a cost of many thousands, as detailed
in invoices and photos on file. This included new wings, door skins, boot floor,
large capacity fuel tank plus a full bare metal respray in its original factory
colour. Many new mechanical parts were also fitted along with new brightwork;
new window rubbers; new headlamps; new door cards etc.
Mr Davies used the car almost daily until 2018 when poor health meant
that his pride and joy was then parked up. Our vendor, a Morris Minor enthusiast
and a member of the MMOC, purchased the car in 2020. He has continued to look
after it well, including the fitment of a new fuel line, bump stops and
replacement seats amongst other‘minor’ fettlings.
The renovations
that took place some 13 years ago appear to have held up well and the paintwork
looks generally good although some bubbling is beginning to occur in the usual
places (see photos). The interior is nicely mellowed and overall it is clear to
see that this Minor has been cherished by both owners over the last 25
years.
Retaining its original Hampshire-issue number plate, NAA 332, this
well-kept split-screen Moggie is ready for a new owner to
enjoy.
