Lot Ended
Description
Only 4,800 miles on reconditioned Ivor Searle engine; repainted
earlier this year; over £20k of invoices since 2007; leather interior;
overdrive; stainless steel exhaust; driven 50 miles to sale; a pampered MG that
even has a picnic hamper!
First
registered in September 1973, this lovely MGB GT has been in the current
ownership since 2015 with just three former keepers, all named in documents on
file.
The Heritage Certificate shows that it
was built in August 1973 finished in Damask Red with Navy trim, overdrive,
Rostyle wheels, tinted glass, brake servo, headrests and automatic seat belts.
It was supplied new via Lex of Stourbridge.
It
comes with a vast history file extending back many years, including no fewer
than 36 old MOTs. It is impossible to detail all the maintenance that has gone
into this car, but we are told by the vendor that the invoices amount to well
over £20,000 since 2007.
In July 2014 it was
fitted with a remanufactured Ivor Searle engine and it has only covered 4,800
miles since. In April this year it was treated to a full repaint in the original
Damask Red. It also has a Webasto sun roof and a full leather interior which
looks marvellous.
Since 2015 alone it has
received, in no particular order, the following new parts: brake pads, hoses and
copper pipelines; king pins; starter motor; fuel lines; petrol cap; 4 new tyres;
stainless steel exhaust; stainless steel wheel nuts; interior lights and
headlights; Kenwood CD/radio; sunroof replaced; new windscreen; door, bonnet and
boot rubbers; underseal treatment; waxoil treatment – we could go on but you get
the picture!
One of the most pampered MGs we
have seen, it was driven over 50 miles to the sale and has been starting
promptly and running beautifully as we have moved it around on site with good
55psi oil pressure. It even comes with a fully stocked picnic hamper. What more
could you want?
