Dating from September 2004 this earlier
R230 series Mercedes SL comes to us in popular 350 form and is finished in
Obsidian Black with desirable glass Panoramic folding metal roof and sits upon
its original 18” five-spoke alloy wheels and looks most handsome with
it.
Under the bonnet, we find the
3.7-litre M112 V6 engine which develops 242Bhp and 350NM of torque, driving the
rear wheels via five-speed 5G-tronic automatic/tiptronic
transmission.
Inside the airy cabin (thanks to
the Panoramic roof option) we find an inviting Oxblood leather interior with
black dash and wood trim. The spec also includes electric heated memory seats,
dual zone climate control with AC, electric windows, electric roof, sunblind for
the Pan roof, Comand navigation and in-car entertainment, cruise control,
automatic Xenon headlights with wash, multi-function steering wheel, on-board
computer, parking sensors, folding mirrors, CD changer and keyless
go.
The eagle eyed may have noticed the split
in the leather on the passenger seat – the car spent some time in Southern Spain
with its owner, the damage happened there.
To compensate, the owner has supplied a brand-new seat cover for this
part of the seat in the correct colour and material which is photographed within
the boot, ready to be fitted.
The car has
covered an indicated 95,655 miles and presents well bar the above and looks like
a lot of car for the money, and here is badged as a 500 (although it is a
350) for extra Kudos.
The history file includes
the owner’s pack and service book recording seven stamps, the last in Alicante,
Spain in 2019 at 145,009Km (90,630 miles). There is also a hand-written entry
from 2015 at 78,922 miles with supporting invoice on file. In addition, we also
have the current MOT valid until May 2024 recording just one minor advisory for
a number plate light. The new
V5C has now arrived following the retention of a cherished number
by our lady owner.
