1998 BMW 316i Compact (E36/5)

Rare to find, in lovely unmolested order; manual 'box example showing 96,773 miles

Supplied new by Victoria (Bavaria) Ltd of Harrogate in August 1998, this later face-lift model E36/5 Generation of 316 Compact is finished in Alpine White, and sits upon its original 15” 10-spoke alloy wheels.

Charmingly unadulterated and appearing to have remained in standard spec, the car looks well and was driven to the sale by our vendor, who has owned the car for the last four years.

Under the bonnet, we find the 1.6-litre M43 four-cylinder petrol engine which generates 101bhp and 150NM of torque, driving the rear wheels here via five-speed manual transmission.

Inside, we find a ‘Lux’ spec including anthracite grey cloth interior, dark grey dash trim, original BMW Business radio/cassette player, air conditioning, digital clock, no-smoker pack, electric mirrors and electric front windows.

The car shows 96,773 miles which is supported by some 14 old MOTs and nine stamps in the service book.  The last stamped service being in June 2015 at 51,112 miles by Autokraft Ltd, BMW specialists. The book also includes a further six stamps for coolant/microfilter or brake fluid changes.

The file also includes the V5C revealing six former keepers, the original purchase invoice for £17,460 to its first owner, a Wing Commander, good selection of bills for parts and maintenance along with the current MOT, valid until August 2023 with no advisories recorded.

Ready to be enjoyed, this is a rare sight now and in charmingly unmolested order and under 100k miles.
