1960 Morris Minor 1000

Current lady owner 14 years; sensible upgrades including front disc brakes, alternator charging and electronic ignition; reconditioned unleaded engine 40k miles ago; regularly serviced

Affectionately known as William, this charming Morris Minor four-door was first registered in March 1960 and has had just two lady owners since 2002 with lots of invoices to show regular upkeep, all the work in the last 20 years being carried out by the same local garage, Mainly Minors of Twyning (now known as Avonside Autos).
In December 1998 at around 60,000 miles, he was fitted with a fully reconditioned lead-free engine, an unbroken run of 26 old MOTs from 1993 – 2019 showing that he has covered around 41,300 miles since, the odometer currently showing 101,284 miles. A reconditioned cylinder head was also fitted in 2011 at 89,723 miles when the old one developed a crack.
Uprated with front disc brakes, alternator charging, Pertronix electronic ignition and a double core radiator, William has been serviced annually at MOT time in the current 14-year ownership, the most recent service being in February this year. Regularly greased and waxoiled, he appears to be very sound both above and below with good bodywork and smart cellulose paint.
Starting promptly and running nicely as we have moved him around on site, William has always been well looked and provided this continues he doubtless has another 60 years of useful life ahead of him.
